Rules

Rules of conduct

These rules apply to everyone who shoots on the club's ranges. Read them before you come — they are short.

Check your firearm!

  1. Never touch someone else's firearm without the owner's consent.
  2. Never pick up a firearm without immediately making sure whether there is a round in the chamber or the magazine.
  3. Always treat a firearm as if it were loaded.
  4. Never point a firearm at anyone.
  5. Do not touch your firearm while anyone is in front of the firing line.
  6. When the firearm is loaded, keep the muzzle pointing down at the ground and forward towards the targets.
  7. Load and fill magazines only on the firing line. Never take a loaded firearm off the firing line.
  8. When you leave your place at the shooting bench, the magazine must be out and the slide locked back. For a revolver: hammer down and cylinder swung out.
  9. When you have finished shooting, always make sure that both the chamber and the magazine are empty.
  10. The shooter is in every respect responsible for their own firearm, and is obliged to know and follow the regulations.
  11. The range officer has the duty and the authority to send away anyone who is careless on the range. The range officer and the club are, however, not responsible for accidents caused by the shooter's negligence, lack of judgement or lack of experience, or by other causes.
  12. Store firearms and ammunition securely, locked away from anyone unauthorised.

At training and at competitions

These rules must be followed whether it is a competition or training. Avoid unnecessary noise when you come onto a firing line where shooting is under way. At a competition, wait to come onto the firing line while shooting is in progress.
