About the club

Sandefjord Pistol Club

A sport shooting club in Vestfold, run by its members since 1946.

Our history

Sandefjord Pistolklubb was founded in 1946 by former officers of Milorg, the wartime resistance, and has been central to the shooting community in Sandefjord ever since.

The club's first range was at Gråten (Ringkollen), but noise complaints from the neighbourhood forced a move. In the years that followed the club was based in several places around Sandefjord, among them Galsrud (Hem) and later Hotvedt, near what is now Fokserød. When the new E18 made yet another move necessary, the search began for a new and permanent home.

The answer was Bjørndalen by Goksjø, where Sandefjord Pistolklubb is based today. Here the club has built a modern facility with an outdoor range, a clubhouse, covered target frames, a firing line and steel bullet traps. The range is also used by the police and NROF for training and exercises.

Indoor shooting all year round

Besides the outdoor range, the club has a civil defence shelter at Gokstadveien 5, which has been its indoor range since 1965. It has two ranges of six firing points each.

In 2025 and 2026 the indoor range was thoroughly modernised. An approved, heated ventilation system was installed, and every room and surface was upgraded. The result is a bright, functional and modern facility that is easy to maintain and gives good training conditions all year round.

An active, growing club

Today Sandefjord Pistolklubb has around 420 members and an active community for new and experienced shooters alike. The club offers training, competitions and an inclusive fellowship for everyone who wants to take up pistol shooting in a safe and responsible way.
