Outdoor range

Bjørndalen

Bjørndalen skytebane is Sandefjord Pistolklubb's outdoor range in Stokke, and the club's main arena for training and competitions.

Sandefjord Pistolklubb took a lease on the land that is now Bjørndalen skytebane in 1984. Over the years the range has been extended and modernised, and today it is a modern shooting facility.

What the facility has

  • A detached clubhouse with a meeting and course room, an office and a dedicated reloading room.
  • A firing line for 15 targets, with a kitchen and toilet alongside.
  • Target frames, a workshop container and containers for storing target materials.

A range for many disciplines

The range is laid out for every shooting programme under the Norwegian Shooting Association, among them:

  • Banefelt – Norgesfelt
  • Hurtigpistol – NAIS
  • Standardpistol – Silhuettpistol
  • PPC (reduserte skiver, 25 m)
  • VM-program – fin- og grovpistol

The range is in active use all year round for sanctioned competitions, club matches and members' own training.

Indoor range

Newly refurbished

Hula

The refurbishment is finished and the range is fully open. Members with their own firearms can train here every weekday.

News

Hula sits in a former civil defence shelter in Gokstadveien, and has been the club's indoor range since 1965. It holds two shooting halls and a generous spectator area.

Indoors, neither the weather nor the dark months stop the season.

Completely refurbished, 2025–2026

The whole facility has been upgraded. A completely new heated ventilation system was installed, with every pipe and valve replaced, and all floors were levelled and given new covering.

All the lighting was replaced with energy-efficient LEDs, and the ceilings and walls were repaired and treated. The result is a bright, functional range that is easy to maintain and gives good training conditions all year.

The ranges

The facility has two ranges of six targets each:

  • One range with Kongsberg electronic targets.
  • One range with cardboard targets.
  • Prepared for an air pistol installation, including provision for para shooting.

What the range is for

  • Training all year

Members with their own firearms can train here every weekday, except during organised training or other events.

  • Group training

Organised group training with club firearms for hire, Tuesdays and Thursdays 18:00–20:00.

  • Taster sessions

First-time shooters are instructed every Tuesday, 18:00–19:30.

  • Open to everyone

Built to universal design: doorways and entrances were opened up so wheelchair users can use the facility easily.

Comfort

The spectator area has carpets, new furniture, a kitchen and toilets. There are proper washing facilities too, so you can clean off any lead dust after training.

Thank you to our supporters

The refurbishment was largely carried out by the members themselves. The project was made possible by generous contributions from Thorbjørn Hansens Stiftelse, Sparebankstiftelsen 1. and several others.

Welcome to Hula – a modern, safe and inclusive shooting facility in Sandefjord.

Want to try it?

You need neither your own pistol nor any experience. Come to a taster session and we will take it from there.
